3D simulator benefits
3D Simulator offers an efficient and fast analysis tool for virtual testing, validation, correction, and optimization of extrusion die designs. It is adapted to the aluminum extrusion industry by tailored specific tasks. Special features can be added on customer request.

It enables the user to minimize the die design time and reduce the associated costs and overall product development cycle time.
Costly and time-consuming die trials on presses can be replaced by virtual prototyping and testing with computers.
Efficient computer simulations with optimized algorithms enable the user to visualize and understand extrusion material flow, temperature, pressure, mechanical and thermal loads. as well as to design robust die sets by accurately predicting deflections and stresses due to these loads.
The user is thus in particular able to:
- determine causes for flow imbalance and non-uniformity of the velocity at the bearing entrance
- study consequences of design modifications
- test new die designs
- predict the profile shape
- predict surface defects
- track surface impurities and prevent them from entering the profile
- determine transverse weld length in order to minimize weld scrap
- predict the quality of seam welds in the weld chamber
- calculate die deflection and mandrel shift during extrusion
- minimize tool deflection to meet product tolerances
- identify causes for tool breakage
